Join us at the Centenary Cyclists’ Service, 1:30pm on Sunday 10th May

The Annual Cyclists' Service was inaugurated by Canon J. Gibson Black, Vicar of Coxwold in 1927. In those post-war years, there were more than 200 cyclists’ services across the UK, held to commemorate those who fell in the First World War and to celebrate the joy of cycling.
Now just two of those services remain - one at Meriden near Coventry and the other at Coxwold. The annual tradition has continued unbroken through World War 2 and the Covid pandemic.
The service will be preceded by sandwich lunch at the village hall from 11:30am. This will be followed by the 100th service in Coxwold Church at 1.30pm. During the service a commemorative plaque will be unveiled near the lych gate by Stephen Cottrell, Archbishop of York.
All are welcome - cyclists and non-cyclists. Do please join us.
