Tearoom, Gifts, Thai cooking and B&B in Coxwold, North Yorkshire

Under new management since November 2024, the Coxwold Tearooms continues to offer a charming experience of gifts, home baking and international culinary delights, and traditional English Bed & Breakfast accommodation.

Winter opening hours are Thursday to Sunday (plus Bank Holiday Mondays) 10.00 to 16.00.

Keith and Pathitta (Jimmy) moved to Coxwold straight into the English winter after twenty years together in Thailand where Jimmy had her own Thai cooking school.

The tempting Tea Room menu provides teas, coffees, homemade cakes and scones: we also offer hot soup, bacon butties and jacket potatoes – ideal for walkers returning from a hike on the Moors.  A small range of Thai food will soon be available too.

A new feature of the tearoom is Thai supper evenings on alternate Fridays when you can enjoy an authentic (set menu) Thai meal for a very reasonable price.

The Gift Shop offers a huge array of jewellery, greetings cards, soft furnishings, room diffusers, decorative objects, vintage pieces and a special range of Thai crafts and hand-made silk.

Coming early in 2025 will be Thai cookery classes. These will start when the upgrading of the kitchen is complete, but gift vouchers are already available for future half-day classes.  Jimmy has taught people from literally all around the world how to cook Thai food from the basic half-day class for enthusiasts up to full-time one-to-one courses for professional chefs.  As with the Thai supper evenings, special packages to ‘stay and cook’ will be available in the B&B.

The B&B accommodation at the Coxwold Tearooms provides the perfect overnight stay for a peaceful country getaway.  Formerly the village headmaster’s house, Coxwold Tearooms is a low-ceilinged, charming property with nooks and crannies, flagged floors and serious fireplaces.  We have three letting bedrooms, two doubles and one twin.  At Coxwold Tearooms you sleep on Egyptian cotton bedding and enjoy complimentary toiletries, whilst surrounded by a quintessentially English garden.
